our California agent for service of process (registered agent),
order online
or call us at 1-800-669-9805 for further information; or to arrange
for service, either immediately or effective upon expiration of your
current registered agent period of service.
Expect our California process agent to provide
quality service at a reasonable price: $99 per year. We know that
you can pay twice as much, possibly even more, for this vital but
straightforward service. We've been in the business for years and
know that you do not need a lot of frills. So, if you are paying more
or getting less from your current service, you can now comply with
California laws requiring
an agent. You can do so without sacrificing quality
and dependability. This is especially true if you plan to operate
in several states.
,
founded by a veteran corporate lawyer, has become a network of practicing
lawyers in the various states.
provides dependable registered, statutory, and resident agent service
everywhere, plus other corporate and legal services, e.g. trademarks.
We provide quality registered/statutory/resident agent service in
all of the United States. If you are considering expansion into Canada,
we can help you establish an extra-provincial corporation.
The
essential facts you should know about an agent for service of process
in California:
"Registered
agent," "statutory agent" and "resident agent"
are three names for the same thing: an agent authorized by a company
to receive documents and notices. By whatever name the agent must
work from a registered office. (Since the three terms all refer to
a Resident of
the state acting as an AGENT,
we are coining the term "ragent" to include them
all).
Your California
"ragent" must be either (1) a domestic company formed under
California corporate law (2) a foreign corporation authorized to transact
business in California or (3) an adult individual who resides in California.
Because neither an LLC (limited liability company) formed under California
law nor a foreign LLC is specifically mentioned as eligible to be
a registered agent, an inquiry to the California Secretary of State's
office is recommended if your agent is a limited liability company.
It is important
to note that a California registered agent (agent for service of process)
must have a California street address rather than a post office
box.
APPOINTING
A NEW CALIFORNIA REGISTERED AGENT
If you are forming
a new company yourself (or qualifying your company to do business
in a new state yourself) and are interested in our registered agent
services, just check the first box when you order
online. (If you want legal assistance in the formation or qualification
process, you may want to contact 4inc.com,
which is also affiliated with the Inc.Link®
network of corporate professionals.)
If you are an existing
company which desires to change its registered agent in California,
you may do so at any time by completing a change of California registered
agent form and submitting it to the California Secretary of State.
When you order
online, we take care of filling out this form and sending it to
you for signature. After you have signed and returned the form to
us, we will take care of filing it, and we will also pay the change
fee which must be paid to the California Secretary of State.
If you would prefer
to sign the form first and send it to us so that we may complete it
and file it with the California Secretary of State, along with the
filing fee, the change of California registered agent (agent for service
of process) form for either an LLC or corporation can be found at
http://www.sos.ca.gov/business/corp/pdf/so/corp_so350.pdf.
Just sign it and turn it over to us and we will take care of the rest.
You can also contact one of California's
regional offices.
If your present
agent is prepaid for a period of time, you can instruct us not to
make the change until that period of time has expired.
